The winter carnival
The Winter Carnival is a long running event series sponsored by the Office of Activities, Involvement, & Leadership at UWEC. It is held every February in order to boost morale and build connections during the long winter months. The theme created by the Student Senate for the 2022 carnival was titled Blu's Blizzard, named after our mascot, Blu the Blugold.
After being assigned the project, I was given near total creative freedom for the event series. With the approval from my bosses, I was able to commit to a midcentury modern style for this entire project. After doing some research, I chose a few fonts that reflected the midcentury era, employed the use of halftones, and added illustrative elements throughout the marketing. I ended up creating an event poster, free sticker, Instagram graphics, and TV graphics for campus-wide distribution.
